The Menrath Palace has been adorning the centre of Novi Sad and attracting the attention of passers-by with its unusual fa\u00e7ade ornaments for more than a century now.<\/strong><\/p>

\"\ud83d\udccc\"\u00a0<\/span>Centre<\/a><\/p>

If you go to Tr\u010dika<\/a>, you\u2019ll have a view of the magnificent building next to the Pariski Magazin. The Menrath Palace was built in 1908 and designed by Lip\u00f3t Baumhorn<\/strong>, who designed the Novi Sad Synagogue<\/a> as well.<\/span><\/p>

This \u2018modest\u2019 house was built for the famous Novi Sad merchant Josef Menrath<\/strong>, whose family used to run an exclusive furniture store downstairs.<\/span><\/p>

The two-storey house was built in the shape of the Cyrillic letter \u0160, the street-side fa\u00e7ade is of sculptural looks and has balconies with iron fences, and a small atrium backyard too.<\/span><\/p>

Mortar plastic in the shape of masks, of various friezes and ornaments, gives this house a vivid look, thus making you wish you lived there for at least a day. Today, the Menrath Palace is under the city\u2019s protection<\/a> and is part of the cultural monuments of Novi Sad.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
