The holiday spirit is already spreading around the city, and the questions about celebrating New Year’s Eve are slowly becoming the subjects of numerous conversations. Recently, we revealed just a few details about the programme\u00a0of\u00a0Do\u010dek<\/a>, the first programme arch of the\u00a0European Capital of Culture<\/a>, and on this occasion, we invite you to join us in a unique celebration of the transition from the old to the new year, with a never-before-seen programme in this part of the world.<\/strong>
\nDo\u010dek, the European Trend Brand of the Year 2021<\/strong> will reach its artistic-programme and production peak in the fifth year of its development. More than 400 artists from Serbia and the whole of Europe will focus on the fusion of art and science, preserving and promoting the heritage of great names of Serbian science and art, which have reached European and world frameworks \u2013 Nikola Tesla<\/strong>, Mileva Mari\u0107 Einstein, Milutin Milankovi\u0107, Dragi\u0161a Bra\u0161ovan and Ljubomir Mici\u0107.<\/strong>
\nLet us see what awaits us on the craziest night of the year<\/strong>, while also taking a look at the unique artistic celebration on 13 January, that you simply need to experience!<\/p>\n

Do\u010dek 2022 \u2013 The Citizens of Novi Sad Are Lighting Their City on 31 December<\/strong><\/h1>\n

On 31 December, the citizens of Novi Sad will symbolically illuminate their city with a programme inspired by the character and work of the great scientist who illuminated the whole world \u2013 Nikola Tesla<\/strong>, the first honorary citizen of Novi Sad. At 20:22, near the Duga Bridge, a part of the \u2018Tesla, Inventartist\u2019 play directed by Neboj\u0161a Bradi\u0107<\/strong>, performed by the Serbian National Theatre, will be premiered. The audience will be included in the play, forming a procession over the Rainbow Bridge and thus connecting the two banks of the Danube all the way to the Suburbium of the Petrovaradin Fortress<\/strong>, where the multimedia Tesla Light Gallery will be opened.<\/strong><\/p>\n

An unusual opportunity for the citizens of Novi Sad and their guests to see the baroque jewel, Suburbium, in a new spirit with rarely seen light installations and a combination of different artists who prepare an authentic audio-visual experience. Some of the most significant artists in the field of lighting art installations and performances will present themselves within the Tesla Light Gallery, and among them are Dr. Alberto Novello from Italy, Ivan Maru\u0161i\u0107 Klif from Croatia, Petko Tan\u010dev from Bulgaria, Milica Stoj\u0161i\u0107, PhD, with students of stage design from the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad and Sta\u0161a Kuki\u0107<\/strong>. In addition to them, numerous musicians, whose performances will be a special experience for the audience due to light installations, will perform. Among them are the mysterious electro pop duo Nipplepeople<\/strong>, Austrian trio Elektro Guzzi<\/strong>, who in an innovative way approaches live techno music, the Belgrade band Kanda, Kod\u017ea i Neboj\u0161a, \u0110or\u0111e Miljenovi\u0107<\/strong>, as well as the Novi Sad DJ band Noise Destruction<\/strong>, which has been on the scene for almost three decades, and many others. The programme within the Tesla Light Gallery will end on 1 January, with the world-famous Austrian electro duo Kruder & Dorfmeister<\/strong> and the Belgrade band Minilinija<\/strong>. The programme is supported by Austrian Cultural Forum.<\/p>\n
