Through the project of cultural stations, Novi Sad joined the process of decentralisation of culture from official institutions into the field of self-organised civic activism, which is one of the tendencies in cultural development in the 21st century. Through the cultural stations Egys\u00e9g, Svilara, Liman, Barka, Bukovac, Mlin, Rumenka, and the mobile cultural station Karavan, the people of Novi Sad are presented with the opportunity to actively participate in creating and organising events, but also to revive Novi Sad neighbourhoods as cultural bridges.<\/p>\n

Svilara, as a factory of cultural content, is a symbol of the industrial heritage of Novi Sad. Egys\u00e9g is the place for cultural stories, the former seat of the first sports association in the region and now a meeting point, a space for dance and literary evenings, workshops, and education. Karavan is culture on wheels. This mobile cultural station is reviving Novi Sad’s neighbourhoods. It brings a variety of artistic and cultural content to remote parts of the city and its suburbs. The cultural oasis near the city is the Bukovac Cultural Station. The combination of the cultural heritage of the former Cultural Centre and modern trends in culture, ecology, and sports form the identity of the new cultural station.
