The Kaleidoscope of Culture in Novi Sad starts its second week, the Applied Arts Week, from 18 to 24 September, when the District will be transformed into a place of unseen settings, which, requiring interaction, provide the audience with a new experience of art, while cultural stations will be the location for the big names of the local design scene. Read below which artistic events in Novi Sad will mark the week ahead.<\/span><\/p>\n

Feel the pulse and discover the spirit of the District<\/span><\/h2>\n

The first exhibition about an industrial heritage and an interactive installation of as much as five meters high and three meters wide, which needs an audience to function, will be presented on Saturday, 30 September<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The interactive sculpture \u2018Heart\u2019<\/strong>, authored by Milijana Komad,<\/strong> PhD, and a pioneer in the field of digital technologies and art, will be visible from all parts of the District due to its dimensions. Through the interactivity of the sculpture, visitors will have the opportunity to feel a unique artistic experience that will stimulate their senses and emotions.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\u2018With this work, I wished to materialize what has been talked about since the beginning of civilization \u2013 about love and about someone in our heart. Many people fight against loving and letting anyone into their heart for fear of being hurt, and those who do this feel an empty hole in their hearts. This interactive sculpture would be a materialized way to visualize something that moves the world \u2013 LOVE\u2019 \u2013 said Milijana Komad.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Opening hours:<\/strong> from September 30 to October 7, the sculpture will be on display 24 hours a day, and then until October 15, visitors will be able to visit it from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (except Mondays and Tuesdays, when the object will be closed).<\/p>\n

On the last day of September, the first exhibition about an industrial heritage<\/strong> \u2013 the District, will be opened. The exhibition is not a classic documentary exhibition, which only shows chronologically historical events, but also interacts with the audience, presenting personal stories and archives of men and women from Novi Sad.\u00a0After the opening, the working hours of this permanent installation will be every day from 16:00 to 20:00, except Monday and Tuesday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The multimedia exhibition<\/strong> and permanent exhibition \u2018Spirit of the Place \u2013 A Century of the District\u2019<\/strong> dramatizes and thematizes the space of the District through time. Divided into six phases, from the establishment of the factory, through the Second World War and NATO bombing, to the European Capital of Culture, the exhibition tries to depict the turbulence, progress, changes, tragic fates, chaos, hope and cacophony of a time.<\/p>\n

Applied arts in Cultural stations<\/span><\/h2>\n

During the Applied Arts Week, cultural stations will host some of the biggest names from the local design scene \u2013 Slavimir Stojanovi\u0107 Futro and Goran Edi Tadi\u0107, who will bring the most current topics to the Kaleidoscope of Culture.<\/p>\n

You will find out how to make your brand visible and recognizable, and why design is a key factor, at the lecture and workshop of Goran Edi Tadi\u0107 \u2018Make the logo bigger \u2013 creating a visible brand\u2019<\/strong>, which will open the Applied Arts Week in the Rumenka Cultural Station on 19 September at 8 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Goran Edi Tadi\u0107<\/strong> started designing in the nineties, when he graduated from the Faculty of Applied Arts. He has implemented around a thousand solutions in the field of graphic design, and in addition, he also deals with illustration.<\/p>\n

The world award-winning and most famous Serbian designer Slavimir Stojanovi\u0107 Futro<\/strong> will hold a motivational stand-up lecture<\/strong> in the Egys\u00e9g Cultural Station on 22 September at 8 p.m.<\/strong>, as part of the Applied Arts Week at the sixth Kaleidoscope of Culture.<\/p>\n

Slavimir Stojanovi\u0107 Futro<\/strong> is a Belgrade designer, visual artist, writer and professor. His projects have won over 300 international awards and have been featured in magazines, publications, galleries and museums.<\/p>\n
