The new permanent exhibition ” \u2019Production In(finite’<\/a> ” opened by the “Atelje 61” tapestry-making institution as part of the Kaleidoscope of Culture, brings a selection of 22 tapestry works from their collection, with unique works created through collaboration with the great names of Yugoslav and Serbian modernism.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

The exhibition \u2019Production In(finite’<\/a> showcases a selection of 22 tapestry works from the Tapestry Collection of Atelje 61, highlighting the quality, originality, and high artistic value of these pieces, created in collaboration with prominent authors of Yugoslav and Serbian modernism. What makes this exhibition special is the fact that the selection of works, alongside curator Danijela Vimi\u0107, was made by the tapestry art specialists themselves from Atelje 61, bringing different perspectives to the tapestry medium. The displayed works encompass a wide range of weaving techniques, from original tapestry expression to the translation of pre-existing painted works into tapestry. The exhibition explores the possibilities offered by the tapestry medium in its encounter with contemporary visual arts, such as comics and street art, thus showcasing the chronological development of Serbian tapestry expression, which Atelje 61 has preserved and nurtured for 63 years.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Exhibition author Danijela Vimi\u0107 stated: ‘My starting point in designing the exhibition was the desire to present our production team, consisting of eight weavers, specialist masters of artistic weaving, not only through their unique profession but also through the tapestries they selected. Through these 22 pieces, which are part of our collection, the possibilities of the tapestry medium and its development over decades are displayed. Our production kept pace with modern works of artists, and there were no unsolvable surfaces or impossible tasks for them.\u2019<\/p>

One of the weaving masters, Verica Lazi\u0107, added:<\/p>

‘The intertwining of warp and weft threads within the set framework of the visual form (artist’s sketch or template) is a great skill of weaving, accompanied by years of team work experience in Atelje 61. Taking the finished tapestry off the loom is an unforgettable feeling, and I am particularly happy and fulfilled when I see it in its entirety\u2014so beautiful, warm, and vivid in color, as only wool can convey.’<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
