The excellent programme of the seventh Kaleidoscope of Culture continues this week in the District, with a focus on performing arts. One of the standout events will be the guest performance of the Belgrade Drama Theatre with the play Democracy<\/em>, on 20 September at 7 p.m. at the SCCNS Fabrika.<\/strong> This is a unique opportunity for the Novi Sad audience to see a contemporary play that questions the fundamental values of our society. Here are three reasons why you should attend this event on Friday:<\/p>

1. Plays by the Belgrade Drama Theatre are rarely seen in Novi Sad<\/strong><\/h2>

The Belgrade Drama Theatre does not frequently perform in Novi Sad, but this will be its first participation in the Kaleidoscope of Culture programme. This opportunity is special because the Novi Sad audience can watch a play that has already achieved great success in Belgrade. 2. <\/strong>Re-examining democracy in the modern world<\/strong><\/h2>

The play Democracy<\/em>, written by Russian author Joseph Brodsky and directed by Veljko Mi\u0107unovi\u0107, tackles complex questions: How much of the original meaning of democracy remains today, and does it even bring us what its basic tenets promised? The adaptation is radical, inspired by the essays and poetry of Joseph Brodsky, as well as other philosophers and writers who question democracy. Through this play, you will be prompted to reflect on what democracy truly means in the modern world and to what extent its principles are being abused.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

3. <\/strong>Outstanding artistic team<\/strong><\/h2>

Democracy<\/em> brings together top-notch actors on stage and a creative team behind the production. The roles are played by Ozren Grabari\u0107, Ivana Nikoli\u0107, Arpad Mesaro\u0161, Tamara Aleksi\u0107, Gabor Pongo\/Milo\u0161 Lazarov, with live music performed by Nikola Dragovi\u0107 and Ivan Mirkovi\u0107. The set design is by Marija Kalabi\u0107, the costumes by Jelena Stoku\u0107a, and the lighting design is by Sr\u0111an Jovanovi\u0107.<\/p>
