The performance “Bark”<\/strong><\/a>, which was initially scheduled to be presented to the Novi Sad audience as part of the Ti\u0161ma Pavilion in the District, has been postponed to September 20<\/strong> due to bad weather conditions. It will now be performed during Performing Arts Week<\/strong> on Stage 1 at 9 PM. <\/strong>The play, inspired by Aleksandar Ti\u0161ma\u2019s novel \u2019Faith and Treason\u2019, will be performed by the dancers of \u2019Vuk Karad\u017ei\u0107\u2019 Cultural Association from Temerin.<\/strong> Through a combination of contemporary and traditional dance, \u2019Bark\u2019 explores complex topics from Novi Sad’s past, addressing issues of identity, war, and moral dilemmas. The performance guides us through the emotional and physical challenges brought by war while reflecting on how people confront changes in their lives.<\/p>\n

\u2019The novel served as inspiration for us to depict the internal struggle within a person. The play raises questions about whether we choose our path or if it is set before us, and how to preserve goodness despite horrors like war. We aimed to present this story through traditional dance with elements of contemporary movement, and this proved to be a very accurate solution,<\/em>\u2019 said the director of the play, Maja Grgi\u0107.<\/p>\n

With choreography by Darko Stanti\u0107 and dance collaborator An\u0111elko \u0110uki\u0107, music by Fran Pogrmilovi\u0107, lighting design by Marin Jaramazovi\u0107, and vocal pedagogue Svetlana Pe\u0161i\u0107, \u2019Bark\u2019 promises to be a visually and emotionally powerful experience. According to the director, the stage will feature thirty-four performers, which presents a challenge in conveying the complex story of seven main characters. \u2019Choosing a language for the play that is clear to the audience while fulfilling our vision was our main focus, as we did not wish to abandon traditional dance at any moment. I believe that traditional dance is not sufficiently represented in theatre, and we consider the play \u2019Bark\u2019 a mission that we are slowly achieving,\u2019<\/em> concluded Maja Grgi\u0107.<\/p>\n
