The Kaleidoscope of Culture, which will take place for the seventh time in Novi Sad, is an event that brings global stars and greats of Serbian art, while opening doors for young artists, giving them a chance to shine and strengthening the local and national scene. This initiative builds new bridges between art and the community, introducing new generations of creatives in the UNESCO Creative City – Novi Sad.
One such generation of creatives consists of third and fourth-year students from the Bogdan Šuput School of Design. The Novi Sad – European Capital of Culture Foundation has cooperated with the school to give future textile designers an opportunity to showcase their skills and knowledge at the Kaleidoscope of Culture. During the Applied Arts Week, visitors will have the chance to see the exhibition Svoji, Slični, Ekologični (Our Own, Similar, Ecological), which will open at CS Opens in the District on 6 and 7 September at 7 p.m. and will run until 12 September. A fashion show, featuring unique creations made from recycled plastic, will be part of the accompanying programme, drawing additional attention from visitors.
Through these events, young artists will demonstrate how plastic, which would otherwise end up in landfills, can be transformed into creative garments. This effort is not only an artistic challenge but also an ecological mission that reminds us of the importance of a sustainable future.
The collaboration with the Bogdan Šuput School offers students the chance to present their work to a broader audience and contribute to creating a shared cultural value.
