As part of the exhibition ’The Darkest Wave,’ which opened during the final week of the seventh Kaleidoscope of Culture, the audience will have the opportunity to hear a professional and critical perspective on the Black Wave, as well as the exhibition itself, from visual artist Uroš Đurić, on Saturday, 12 October, at 7 p.m. in the District.
The exhibition, through innovative presentations, highlights the key topics and aesthetics of the ’Black Wave’ and the works of the most significant directors of this period, including Dušan Makavejev, Želimir Žilnik, Aleksandar Petrović, Karpo Aćimović Godina, Živojin Pavlović, and Lazar Stojanović.
The author of the exhibition is Monika Ponjavić Bilbija, PhD.
Exhibition hours (until 19 October): Weekdays from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., weekends from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.
The exhibition combines artistic interpretation and archival documents, creating a context for understanding the controversial period of Yugoslav cinema from the 1970s. The goal is to offer the audience a new perspective on this cultural phenomenon through the arts of appropriation and post-production.
This event provides a unique opportunity to explore the legacy of the Black Wave and its impact on contemporary art. Don’t miss the chance to experience these iconic works and their new interpretations at the heart of the District.
Admission is free.
