The specific geostrategic position of Novi Sad has made it a
European crossroad. Its migrational identity is reflected in the
multiculturalism and richness of different cultures, and through numerous
programmes within the Migrations programme arch of the European Capital of
Culture, the fundamental value of our eternal wanderings and interpersonal
exchanges will be conveyed.
A special part of Migrations is an extremely rich music
programme that brings some of the great domestic, regional, European, and
international stars to Novi Sad. In the multitude of diverse music genres,
there will be something for everyone. Study the repertoire well, choose, plan,
and, in the spirit of Migrations, embark on a musical journey, because after
the Crossroads programme, three more await us within the Migrations
programme, so go through MigrArt, and dare embark through the Migration
of Souls with a Caravan.
MigrArt
Migrart (15 February – 3 March) is an artistic vision
of migrations as an inseparable part of the European identity, and it is
preparing the following performances for us:
ROctet, a Dutch string octet is coming to the City
Concert Hall on 24 February at 8 p.m., bringing us works of Afanasyev,
Michans, and Mendelssohn.
Two concerts await us within the Musical (Im)migrations
and Bach’s Path project. We will be listening to Bach’s St Matthew
Passion at the Synagogue on 2 March at 8 p.m. The concert Čovek
sav od muzike (A Man All of Music) will be held at the concert hall
of the ‘Isidor Bajić’ School of Music, and the date, as well as more
information about the tickets for both concerts, will be announced at a later
date.
In the City Concert Hall, we will be introduced to
the 2K + ensemble, which will perform works of contemporary classical
music on 2 March at 8 p.m.
Migration
of Souls
Migration of Souls (3 March – 17 March) shows the
impact of existential and spiritual migrations on individuals. This programme
unit takes us to the unique contemporary pavilion of literature at the Novi Sad
Fair, which will focus on the role of books in the life of Novi Sad, in contact
with other arts, including music:
On the first day in the Hall 1 of the Novi Sad Fair, a
Japanese musician Miyavi, the master of the guitar, producer, and actor,
will perform on 3 March at 8 p.m.
The famous Barcelona Gipsy balKan Orchestra will hold
a concert on 6 March, starting from 8 p.m.
The concert connecting contemporary dance from Kaori Ito and
the traditional music of the ensemble Bogdan Ranković & Ethnoforia
from Novi Sad will take place on 8 March at 8 p.m., also at the Fair.
Moroccan world music band Chalaban ties the
elements of traditional Moroccan music with Roma and Balkan sounds, which we
will listen to on 9 March at 8 p.m.
Bilja Krstić & Bistrik Orchestra will perform on 10
March at 8 p.m.
Müller & Makaroff (Gotan Project) present
Antropoceno, a programme which brings us a combination of electronic and dance
music with distinct Argentinian melodies on 12 March at 8 p.m.
Original Enigma Voices and Camerata Novi
Sad will perform on 13 March at 8 p.m.
The location of all the concerts within the Migration of
Souls is the Hall 1 of the Novi Sad Fair, and the tickets can be bought via
Gigstix.
Partner of the Migration of Souls programme is the Novi
Sad Fair, and the companies Globos osiguranje and Dijamant also
provided support.
Caravan
Caravan (17 March – 20 March) will take us on a unique gastronomic journey across Europe, and will complete the magic of many flavours with equally diverse music:
Within the Gospel Music, an Expression of Hope: A Journey Across Continents, Through Culture and Time project, you can enjoy the concert in Bukovac Cultural Station on 17 March at 7.30 p.m.

Fantastic Božo Vrećo will give out another concert to
remember on 15 March in the City Concert Hall twice, at 6
and 8.30 p.m. Tickets on sale soon.
The concert by the name Koridori (Corridors) will
feature Camerata Novi Sad with a marimbist Nebojša Jovan Živković in the
City Concert Hall on 28 February at 8 p.m. (tickets), and
on 19 March also at 8 p.m., cellists Ksenija Janković will join
Camerata at a concert called Empatija (Empathy), also at the City
Concert Hall.
