Seize the following days to visit the District, the new meeting place of different types of art, because you will find several great events worth your attention. These are our recommendations!
Head towards the District from the Liman Park and see the recently discovered sculpture dedicated to Mitar Subotić Suba, created by Milan Kulić, which in honour and memory of the former pioneer of electronic music today adorns one of the most beautiful parks in Novi Sad. After that, discover the interesting exhibitions in the heart of the District, but do not miss the great film screenings that will be shown as part of the Cinema City.
Current Exhibitions
Atelje 61 in the District is currently carrying out as many as three interesting exhibitions, so we invite you to take a walk and visit, first of all, November Art Salon – Exhibition of Independent Artists, opened at the initiative of the art association Lumens from Novi Sad. In addition to this, you can visit Utkano-Strukturalno in the Gallery 4 until 8 December. The exhibition shows the works of students of the Faculty of Applied Arts, University of Arts in Belgrade, i.e. the study programme Design, module Textiles, subject Tapestry. Get acquainted with the works of the artist Daliborka Đurić, at the Avatarizacija exhibition, which you can see in the Gallery 11 until 12 December.
Complement your walk through the District with a tour of the Spirit of Place – A Century of the District permanent exhibition, opened as part of the Kaleidoscope of Culture, which you can see in the Fabrika 2 facility. The authors are Monika Bilbija Ponjavić, PhD and Nemanja Milenković, and represents the turbulent hundred-year history of the former industrial complex. This permanent exhibition is the first of its kind on industrial heritage, and is divided into six stages, from the establishment of the factory, through the Second World War and NATO bombing, to the European Capital of Culture. Cinema City in Fabrika
This week, SCCNS Fabrika will be a meeting place for fans of the seventh art, where some of the great film screenings will be shown as part of this year’s Cinema City event. Surrender to art, as well as to concerts that will mark the beginning of the next weekend!
