Riken Yamamoto, one of Japan’s most renowned architects and the recipient of this year’s prestigious Pritzker Prize, will visit Novi Sad as part of Architecture Week during the seventh Kaleidoscope of Culture, where he will hold a lecture on 28 September, in Serbian National Theatre at 8:30 p.m. His long-standing body of work, which blends contemporary trends with respect for cultural traditions, has been recognized globally.
Born in 1945 in Beijing and raised in Japan, Riken Yamamoto discovered his passion for architecture early, inspired by ancient Buddhist pagodas and his numerous travel experiences.
In a brief interview for Visit District, Riken Yamamoto shared his thoughts on the future of architecture and the importance of preserving cultural values in the modern world.
